Institute of Development Studies, The - Tourism site: The Institute of Development Studies site on Tourism contains many useful articles and links on the subjects of 'Sustainable Tourism' and 'Tourism and Poverty'. It also has a major events calendar of conferences on tourism.

International Ecotourism Club: Ecoclub.com is a network promoting ecotourism with members in over 130 countries. Visitors can find genuine ecolodges, make friends or network in the cafe, read about ecotourism news from around the world, ask experts for advice and more.

International Ecotourism Society, The: TIES is an international membership organisation which provides information about ecotourism. This site is a wonderful starting point containing a wealth of information on the subject from it's online magazine, news and features, to it's 'Travel Choice' page on responsible tourism and list of ecotourism professionals. The site also has a bookstore, information on training and education programmes and forthcoming ecotourism events.

International Year of Ecotourism: The UN has proclaimed 2002 as the International Year of Ecotourism. This website contains the UN's Declaration on IYE, official UN papers and documents on ecotourism, forthcoming conferences, publications and documents on the theme of ecotourism.

Laona Foundation (Cyprus): The Laona Foundation works for the sustainable regeneration and development of the Cyprus countryside, by working closely with rural communities. The Foundation has set up a programme whereby visitors can stay in traditional, well kept houses in the heart of a number of villages in western Cyprus. The website includes information on these villages, prices for accommodation and more.
