International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI): This Washington-based food think-tank seeks sustainable solutions to ending poverty and hunger in the developing world. Its website provides a good insight into a broad range of food and agriculture issues. The site includes information on it researchs projects, publications and training programmes, as well as an on-line library and a comprehensive links section.

International POPs Elimination Network: IPEN is a global network of public interest non-governmental organisations united in their support for the global elimination of persistent organic pollutants, on an expedited yet socially equitable basis. Their website includes information about POPs, the IPEN newsletter, reports, a science panel, links and more.

Living Planet Report (WWF): The excellent Living Planet Report is WWF's periodic update on the state of the world's ecosystems - as measured by the Living Planet Index - and the human pressures on them through the consumption of renewable natural resources - as measured by the Ecological Footprint. There is a cause/effect linkage between the two measures.

OUTREACH: OUTREACH seeks to improve the health and the environment of the poor in the developing world by providing relevant learning materials to educators and communicators. OUTREACH has produced a selection of easy-to-use learning materials on 'soil erosion', 'genetic diversity and food crops', and 'trees for people'. Materials come either as as Issue packs which examine a specific environmental or health issue, and Solution packs which help young people take actions to improve health and environmental conditions. The information is presented in an understandable and practical way.
