Alpine Club, The: The UK-based Alpine Club founded in 1857, caters specifically for those interested in mountaineering in the Alps and the Greater Ranges of the world. The AC promotes a code of climbing ethics which seeks to protect mountain regions and their people from harmful impacts by climbers. Its website includes information on lectures and meetings, the Alpine Journal, a list of guidebooks, information on expeditions and an on-line library of mountaineering literature.

Global Environment Facility (GEF): The GEF is a multilateral mechanism that assists developing countries and countries with economies in transition to protect the global environment. Global Forest Watch: Founded in 1997 by the World Resources Institute, GFW is an international data and mapping network that combines on-the-ground knowledge with digital technology to provide accurate information about the world's forests. Its country profiles include Cameroon, Canada, Gabon, and Indonesia, Chile, Russia, Venezuela, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), and the United States. It also plans to begin work in Brazil in the near future.
