Environment and Urbanization: The journal Environment and Urbanization published by the International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED) has the most detailed coverage of urban environmental problems in Africa, Asia and Latin America. Population and Urban Growth: Cities at the Forefront (JHUCCP): This excellent Population Report published by Johns Hopkins University's Center for Communication Programs explores the linkages between population growth and urbanisation. It contains excellent factual information on many different themes, including Megacities, Cities in the Developing World, Health and Polultion and the Environmental Impact of Cities.

Asia Week: Asia's Best Cities 2000: Asiaweek has published a survey which polled 40 selected cities in Asia, including all the jajor capitals, looking at 23 indicators. The main factors on which cities are ranked are: economic opportunity, quality of education, environment and sanitation, health care, transportation, personal security, housing cost, and leisure.
