Sick to Death

Posted: 09 Mar 2001

With the increasing demand for Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), not only in China but the world over, practioners have been become the
target of conservationists who accuse them of endangering rare animal and plant species.

But Sick to Death uncovers a different side: the practitioners of ancient medicine make a claim to be a force for protection and it suits no-one's interests if the flora and fauna upon which they depend, disappear altogether. In this film we examine both points of view before bringing the two sides together in an unusual meeting in Beijing.
